Chennai-Based Builder purchased Rolls-Royce Spectre before it’s Official Launch in India

Chennai’s Baashyaam Yuvaraj, a builder with Baashyaam Constructions, made headlines by acquiring the Rolls-Royce Spectre at Rs 7.5 crore, even before its official India launch. The delivery, captured in November 2023, showcased Yuvaraj’s modest acceptance in casual attire, garnering social media praise.

The Spectre, Rolls-Royce’s debut electric vehicle, recently hit the Indian market with a hefty price of ₹7.5 Crore. Boasting a 102kWh battery, it offers a 530km WLTP cycle range, making it a standout luxury EV in the country.

The vehicle’s design preserves the iconic Rolls-Royce silhouette, featuring a fastback tail, long bonnet, and a sleek profile. Inspired by contemporary yacht concepts, the design incorporates the widest Rolls-Royce grille for optimal aerodynamics, achieving a drag coefficient of 0.25—marking it as the brand’s most aerodynamic model.

The interior mirrors the opulence of Rolls-Royce’s existing lineup, offering customizable wood paneling for doors and a starlight liner integrated into the door pads, creating a celestial ambiance with over 5,500 lights resembling stars on the passenger side dashboard.

A notable feature is the “Spirit” software platform, serving as Rolls-Royce’s digital interface for connected car technology. Diverging from previous BMW-derived infotainment, Spirit introduces extensive customization options, allowing users to personalize dial colors to match the interior.

The Spectre’s charging capability is another highlight, with a 195kW charger replenishing the battery from 10 to 80 percent in just 34 minutes, outperforming competitors in the luxury electric vehicle segment.
