Hyundai starts delivering IONIQ 5 electric cars to customers in India.

Hyundai Motor has started delivering its latest electric vehicle, the IONIQ 5, to customers in India. The IONIQ 5 is the second electric car launched by Hyundai in India and was unveiled during the Auto Expo 2023 earlier this year.

The first batch of the IONIQ 5 EVs is being dispatched by the carmaker to customers across India, almost three months after its launch in the country. The electric vehicle is priced at ₹44.95 lakh (ex-showroom) and is locally assembled in India. Hyundai had previously announced that it will only sell 500 units of the IONIQ 5 in India this year. IONIQ 5 is the Hyundai’s first EV built on Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), developed exclusively for next-generation battery electric vehicles. IONIQ 5 is equipped with a 72.6 kWh battery pack, which offers an ARAI-certified range of 631 km. The battery supports ultra-fast battery charging with a 350 kW DC charger, which can charge it from 10-80% in just 18 minutes. It also has the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) Technology that can supply up to 3.6 kW of power.
