Hyundai Creta EV spotted testing in Haryana

Hyundai is working towards the launch of the Creta EV, which is expected to make its debut in 2025. Recently, the test mule of the car was spotted on the outskirts of Chennai, and now it has been seen undergoing tests in Haryana. The production of the electric SUV is scheduled to start by the end of 2024. The Creta EV is expected to come with distinct front and rear bumpers, setting it apart from its ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) counterpart. Currently, the test mule has ICE-car bumpers, but the production-spec model will draw inspiration from the Creta facelift test mule that was spotted earlier.

The current test model does not have a charging port, so the engineers had to install the charging wire by opening the hood. However, the production model will have a charging port, which is likely to be positioned at the front. The Hyundai Creta EV will be positioned below the Kona Electric and Ioniq 5.

If the powertrain of the Kona EV is considered, the Creta EV is expected to come with a 327V architecture, a 39.2 kWh battery, and a 135PS and 395 Nm electric motor. The Kona EV boasts a range of 452 kilometres on a single charge. The power output and range of the Creta Electric are expected to be similar.

The Creta EV will most likely be powered by a localized and re-engineered version of the E-GMP design that has been modified for Indian road conditions. The launch of the Creta EV is expected next year or in early 2025.

Inside the car, the Creta EV is expected to be fully loaded with features such as a powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, a large infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital driver’s display, six airbags, ADAS features, and much more.
