Mini Cooper Electric Makes Electrifying Debut in India, Set to Redefine the EV Landscape

In a groundbreaking move, Mini, the iconic British marque, is gearing up to redefine the electric vehicle landscape in India with the highly-anticipated launch of the new Mini Cooper Electric hatchback. Slated for release in the third quarter of 2024, this electric vehicle marks a significant milestone in Mini’s transformation into an EV-only brand.

Dedicated EV Platform: Unlike its predecessor, the Mini Cooper Electric boasts a dedicated EV platform, a testament to Mini’s commitment to electrification. This platform has been meticulously developed by Spotlight Automotive, a joint venture between Mini’s parent company, BMW, and Great Wall Motor in China.

 

Impressive Range: The Mini Cooper Electric offers an impressive range of up to 402 kilometers on a single charge, ensuring that drivers can go the distance without compromise.

 

Sleek Design: The new Cooper Electric showcases Mini’s fresh Characteristic Simplicity design language. With circular headlights, an enlarged octagonal front grille, and a minimalist exterior devoid of chrome, this EV embodies the essentials of the Mini brand. Even the door handles sit flush for a sleek, contemporary look.

 

Minimalistic Interior: Inside, the Mini Cooper Electric features Mini’s latest Android-based operating system. The interior design is marked by a distinct minimalism, with a reflective panel for the head-up display, sleek textured surfaces, and a distinctive character.

 

Two Variants: Buyers can choose from two variants. The base Cooper E, equipped with a 184hp, 290Nm front-mounted motor and a 40.7kWh battery, offers a substantial range of 305 kilometers. Meanwhile, the higher-spec Cooper SE boasts 218hp and 330Nm, propelling it from 0 to 100kph in just 6.7 seconds. Its larger 54.2kWh battery provides an impressive claimed range of 402 kilometers.

 

Fast Charging: Charging is a breeze with the Mini Cooper Electric. It can be charged at a rapid rate of 95kW, allowing for a 10 to 80 percent charge in under 30 minutes.

 

Unique Driving Experience: Mini offers various Mini Experience modes, each with its own displays and powertrain characteristics. The introduction of a new Go-Kart Mode promises an exhilarating drive. Additionally, digital driving sounds add to the overall driving experience.
