The company teases a blend of style and practicality, promising an intriguing lineup for electric and conventional vehicle enthusiasts.

Japanese automaker Suzuki is gearing up for a captivating display at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show 2023, scheduled from October 26 to November 5. Among the highlights are the eagerly anticipated next-generation Swift, the innovative eVX concept, a compact electric van for commercial use, and the attention-grabbing eWX, touted as the mini wagon EV.

The eWX concept, revealed through a single image, boasts a distinctive tall boy design with a boxy silhouette. The front showcases a closed-off grille complemented by C-shaped light clusters, while the lower bumper features plastic cladding with vibrant yellow accents on the bumper, wheels, and side skirts. Suzuki positions the eWX as a ‘practical mini wagon,’ emphasizing its suitability for daily use.

In terms of dimensions, the eWX concept measures an overall length of 3,395 mm, a width of 1,475 mm, and a height of 1,620 mm. Suzuki envisions this electric mini wagon as a versatile and efficient choice for urban mobility.

While details about the interior, features, battery, and electric motors remain undisclosed, Suzuki claims an impressive range of 230 km on a single full charge for the eWX. The company keeps enthusiasts eagerly anticipating more information as the Tokyo Motor Show draws closer.

Accompanying the eWX, Suzuki plans to unveil the next-generation Swift, promising a refreshed design, additional features, and an updated powertrain. The hatchback showcases a re-designed front bumper, a new grille with chunky black surrounds, and smoked LED headlamps with DRLs. Noteworthy international features include a 360-degree camera and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) such as dual sensor brake support, adaptive high beam assist, driver monitoring system, and collision mitigation braking system.

Despite the lack of specifics on the powertrain and gearbox for the Swift, international variants may offer multiple options, including a strong hybrid and a turbo petrol engine. For the Indian market, the new Swift is expected to continue with the 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox.
