Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV Crosses 500 Units Sales Mark in India in 5 Months.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5, an all-electric SUV, has surpassed the 500 units sales mark in India, Hyundai Motor Company announced at the launch of the new Hyundai Exter micro-SUV. The Ioniq 5 is Hyundai’s second fully electric vehicle in India after the Kona EV and is technically identical to the Kia EV 6 that is already on sale in the Indian market. Hyundai launched the much-anticipated Ioniq 5 EV crossover in India at the 2023 Auto Expo, and nearly three months after the car was launched, the carmaker commenced the deliveries for the Ioniq 5. Speaking of its pricing, the Ioniq 5 is available in the country at Rs 44.95 lakh (ex-showroom). It is worth noting that the loniq 5 is locally assembled in India, as opposed to the Kia EV6.

Built on the Electric-Global Modular Platform, the Ioniq 5 EV measures 4,635 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,625 mm in height. According to Hyundai, the E-GMP architecture offers improved driving dynamics, improved cornering performance, and high-speed stability. Besides, the electric vehicle has a remarkable 3,000mm wheelbase, which translates into a large, spacious cabin for passengers.

The electric SUV features a contemporary design with clean lines and contours, distinctive parametric pixel LED headlights, and a seamless clamshell hood. When viewed from the side, the car is defined by Z-shaped character lines, flush door handles, and 20-inch alloy wheels with a parametric pixel design for improved aerodynamics. The parametric pixel design is continued at the back with the LED tail lamps, while a sporty touch is provided by a rear spoiler with LED high-mount stop lamp. The Kia EV6’s technical cousin can be had in 3 exterior colour options – Gravity Gold Matte, Optic White, and Midnight Black Pearl.
