Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd and Jaguar Land Rover Plc Form Strategic Alliance for the ‘Avinya’ Electric Vehicle Series.

Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd (TPEM) and Jaguar Land Rover Plc (JLR), both subsidiaries of Tata Motors Limited, have joined forces in a platform-sharing partnership. This collaboration involves TPEM licensing JLR’s Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA) platform for the development of TPEM’s ‘Avinya’ series of premium pure electric vehicles. The EMA platform, optimized for Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) proportions, promises enhanced interior space, comfort, and advanced electrical and electronic architecture.

The EMA platform will underpin JLR’s next generation of pure electric mid-sized SUVs from 2025 onward. The ‘Avinya’ series, initially introduced in 2022, aims to redefine electric mobility with cutting-edge features such as next-gen connectivity, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), performance, and safety. TPEM anticipates that leveraging JLR’s EMA platform will make the ‘Avinya’ series globally competitive and future-proof.

The collaboration not only facilitates TPEM’s entry into the high-end EV segment but also accelerates the adoption of advanced technologies, including Software Over the Air (SOTA), Features Over the Air (FOTA), safety standards, and ultrafast charging. Additionally, over 200 new jobs are expected to be created in the UK as part of the knowledge and manufacturing process transfer. This strategic partnership signifies a significant step in collaboration and synergies within the Tata Group entities, showcasing a shared commitment to innovation and sustainable mobility solutions.
