The Kia EV 5 electric SUV has been leaked , Prior to its launch on August 25.

The production version of the EV5, Kia’s third electric SUV after the EV6 and EV9, has been leaked online ahead of its scheduled August 25 introduction. Through China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the electric SUV just became public knowledge. The EV5 electric SUV has never before been displayed in its actual form, indicating that not much has changed in terms of design from the concept version that was previously displayed.

The Kia EV5 will be 4,615 mm long, 1,875 mm wide, and 1,715 mm tall, claims the Chinese ministry. The 2,750 mm wheelbase of the EV5 electric SUV is expected. The new Kia EV will weigh 1,870 kgs at kerb weight. The E-GMP platform, created specifically for the Korean auto giant’s electric vehicles, will serve as the foundation for the electric SUV. The EV6 and the recently unveiled three-row EV9 are likewise supported by the same platform.

The Kia EV5 electric SUV will use an 800 volt system, according to the leaked information. As a result, the EV5 will need longer time to recharge than its siblings. It will have an electric motor that will allow the EV to produce a maximum power of 214.5 horsepower. According to reports, the new electric SUV would have an electronically controlled top speed of 185 kmph.

The upcoming Kia EV5 appears to have drawn inspiration from the EV9 electric SUV in terms of design. It has a striking front end with modern LED headlights, a closed grille, and thick bottom bumpers. The alloys’ design appears to be comparable to that of the EV9 as well.

The EV5 electric SUV will be unveiled by Kia at the upcoming Chengdu Motor Show on August 25 in China. The impending electric SUV is perhaps the Korean automaker’s most cheap option in the EV market.
